Q: What is a Reggio Emilia inspired approach?
Based on the early childhood schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy a Reggio Emilia Inspired Approach is an innovative and inspiring approach to early childhood education that values each child as an individual who is strong, capable and resilient; rich with wonder and knowledge.
Q: Is the CRCC program year round?
A. Yes, CRCC operates year round. The 12 months are divided into two terms. The regular term follows the traditional school year. The summer term is usually 10 weeks in length.
Q: If classes are full, does CRCC maintain a waiting list?
A: Yes.
Q: How can I get my child on the CRCC waiting list?
A: You will need to schedule an appointment for you and your child to meet the director and tour the center.
Q: What does it cost to be placed on the CRCC waiting list?
A: Nothing, some preschools do charge, but at CRCC you only pay a registration fee at the time you formally enroll your child.
Q: How old must my child be to attend CRCC?
A: The minimum age is two years old. A child who is younger than two may be placed on the waiting list, they cannot attend prior to their second birthday.
Q: Does CRCC offer a half day option?
A: Families may pick their child up at anytime, but our fees are based on a full-day enrichment program.
Q: If our child is enrolled in two, three or four day schedule may we have him/her attend an extra day once in awhile?
A: CRCC offers drop in for enrolled children on a space available basis. A request to drop in must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Q: What is the CRCC policy regarding withdrawal or changes in schedule?
A: Withdrawals and schedule changes to reduce the number of days of attendance require a four (4) week (28 days) written notice to the director. Requests to add days to a child’s schedule are handled on a space available basis.
Q: What are the qualifications of your teachers?
A: All CRCC teachers are certified and required by us to have educational credentials that exceed those specified by the State of California.
Q: What child to teacher ratios do you maintain?
A: The child to teachers ratio varies with the ages of the children. At CRCC we strive to maintain lower child to teacher ratios than are required by the State of California licensing.
